Psilocybe ATLANTIS
This Species of Psilocybe aparently was mis-identified at the moment of collection. There might have been two different types of Psilocybes close together and this one was gathered and not correctly identified as Psilocybe Atlantis.
Dr. Gaston has recently identified this one as a different type yet unknown, but we will be on the search for the proper ID as most of the Psilocybe Atlantis species going around right now are misidentified.
Anyways, about this mushroom, It grows strong on grain, but when cased even with increased humidity it does not colonize through the casing layer completely so it has to be birthed about 2 weeks after casing. It will appear dead for a while but then with increased light and strong fluctuations in humidity, temp, and CO2 thin elongated mushrooms will start to appear. Our Worm Casting Casing soil works well with this mushroom. Stems can grow as long as 12 inches with a tiny diameter of about 1/8th inch. The mushrooms grow so tall that they cannot withhold their own weight and tumble onto the casing layer after about 4-5 inches. They require a thick casing layer or a bit of tall grass growing around of them to support their bodies. Caps tend to be between a mellow brown or a very dark almost black color as well as the stems can turn dark grayish colors as it overgrows.
Also a LARGE SCLEROTIA Producer in-vitro!
